Les Corts
The distict of Sarria is made up of older towns such as Sant Gervasi de Cassoles and Vallvidrera - Les Planes which were annexed by Sarria en 1897 and 1890 respectively. The district of Sarria was adjoined to Barcelona city in 1921. The result of these historical and planning changes has given the district itīs own special identity and is positively reflected in itīs surroundings.
Sarria is caracterised by itīs numerous and important education centres, serveral faculties of Barcelona University are located in the area, also found in the area are prestigous medical centres, international companies and a wide range of smaller but well known businesses. Itīs a residential district with a high quality of living standards and must be mentioned the numerous parks and green areas, such as the Collserola Park, a green area which provides residents with the possibility to get to know and enjoy a natural surrounding and practice all types of outdoor sports.
The area is very well communicated by underground, train lines (Ferrocarriles Catalnes), a tram line and an extensive number of buses to bring you around the city.
